The Friends of Sacramento Public Library operates the Book Den, which sells gently-used quality books and media. Proceeds benefit all 28 branches of the Sacramento Public Library by funding the purchase of new materials and system-wide programming efforts like Summer Reading. By selling previously-read books at low prices, we recycle them for others to read and enrich the community. The Book Den is open Thursdays, from 9 am – 2 pm, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10 am – 5 pm, at 8250 Belvedere Ave., Suite E. Sacramento CA 95826. You may reach the Book Den at (916) 731-8493 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be aware that there are “No Parking” signs posted on the South side of Belvedere Ave. that are enforced.

When we have a surplus of donated books we re-donate them to community organizations serving children, adults, and seniors throughout the Sacramento County area and beyond. In 2014 we donated over 50,000 books to organizations in need. To see a list of where books have been re-donated this past year, please click here.
